“I got so many great ideas and feedback from KTS that it felt like they were in my corner, like they were a producing partner that was invested in my project.

The Script Notes I received from KTS on my feature script was more comprehensive than I ever expected.  I don’t think there is another service out there that can compete with the value they bring. Beyond the extensive handwritten notes on my script, I also received 160 minutes of audio that really put my script to the test in the best ways. Mistakes/contradictions were found by KTS that all previous readers missed. Questions were asked of me that I never considered. I got so many great ideas and feedback from KTS that it felt like they were in my corner, like they were a producing partner that was invested in my project.  I will use KTS on every script I write in the future, they are invaluable!

“What do you want to know about first? How much you’ll get for your dollar, or how great the advice is? Both far exceeded my expectations.”

What do you want to know about first? How much you’ll get for your dollar, or how great the advice is? Both far exceeded my expectations.

Thanks to William Akers, our story will be better, stronger and more marketable. The other critiquing service we used suggested re-arranging the furniture and adding a throw pillow. William came in and gutted (lovingly and wisely) and provided blueprints to rebuild. He is the real deal.

He’s insightful, thorough and cuts right to the core. It’s the insight into the story and characters that will blow your mind. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out…

“Many drafts later, my script became a Semifinalist in the 2022 Nicholl Fellowship. That would not have happened were it not for Hillary's input.”

When I wrote my first solo screenplay, Hillary was among the first I shared it with, knowing full well how adept she is at helping storytellers focus on the very best aspects of their script. Hillary asks all the right questions and offers truly insightful advice, refined from years of reading scripts for major agencies and producers in addition to her own considerable experience as a screenwriter. I carefully considered, and almost always incorporated, every note and suggestion Hillary offered. Many drafts later, my script became a Semifinalist in the 2022 Nicholl Fellowship. That would not have happened were it not for Hillary's input.

“In the rewriting process, William's script notes are a game-changer. I went from feeling stuck and locked in to my current version, to having a whole world of possibilities opened up for my next draft.”

In the rewriting process, William's script notes are a game-changer. I went from feeling stuck and locked in to my current version, to having a whole world of possibilities opened up for my next draft. The combination of both written and audio feedback, together with reference materials, is unique and comprehensive, and would be helpful for any writer at any level.

Having received written notes from many people, I usually follow up with a phone call for clarification. With William’s audio notes, it’s like having that phone call -- but as a recording that I can constantly refer to throughout the revision process. I’ve listened to the audio notes several times, and each time I can take notes of my own that I want to work on for a script pass. It also allows me to hear the tone and emotion of notes that might be less obvious on a written page. The audio format also allows William to speak freely, brainstorming ideas, suggestions, or solutions that come in quite helpful in subsequent drafts.

Last but not least, the reference materials are a downloadable folder of custom-tailored handouts that correlate to specific notes on your script, and they give you a concrete reference for concepts, checklists, and examples that William mentions in his notes.

“The entire experience was above and beyond my expectations. Most importantly, I believe my script now has potential for success that I never expected to reach.”

My screenplay “sucked” and then I discovered William Akers.

Initially, a trusted friend in the film industry recommended his invaluable book “Your Screenplay Sucks!” I found the book so compelling that I devoured it in one sitting. I then went back to meticulously study and apply as many of the 100 mini-lessons as I deemed relevant to my script. With each application, I felt my work improved by leaps and bounds.

When I contacted my friend to thank him for the referral, he said I was then ready for step 2; submitting my work to William for his review and critique. If the book is a ten, the review and critique process is an eleven. Not only does William provide copious, thoughtful, well-reasoned written notes; I was stunned to also receive 60 minutes of audio that further explained this thoughts and included may helpful “next steps” and supplemental resource materials. To my further surprise, the “next steps” also included an invitation to have a conversation to discuss my questions. Having since learned that Willian is a renowned educator in his field, I can appreciate the professorial approach he brings, including his vision and mission to help all his students produce excellent, “A” level work.

The entire experience was above and beyond my expectations. Most importantly, I believe my script now has potential for success that I never expected to reach.
